Meet our Staff

  Mike Green
  Executive Director
  Mike has served as Executive Director of Tuscaloosa Youth For Christ for 16 years and has 23 years experience total in YFC. Motivated by a desire to see teenagers become lifelong followers of Jesus he continues to lead Tuscaloosa YFC towards its vision of reaching every young person in our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Mike is a product of YFC's local ministry first getting involved as a college student in the early 80's. He and his wife Laura returned to Tuscaloosa in 1994 for give leadership to this ministry.   Laura Green
  Office Manager

  Laura has been on staff with Youth for Christ for over 15 years. Laura grew up in Vermont and graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL with a B.A. in Modern Languages. Laura enjoys working behind the scenes at the YFC office to ensure that the ministry staff are fully equipped to achieve the mission that God has placed before them. She and Mike are the parents to two children, Brittany who was recently married and is working on her MBA, and Ross who attends the University of Alabama.  If you need to contact the YFC Office email Laura at laura@tuscaloosayfc.com.

  Lauren Long
  Teen Moms Director 

  Lauren was a senior in college when she felt God’s call on her life to full time ministry. After graduating from the University of Alabama she moved to Lexington Kentucky where she served as a semester missionary with the University of Kentucky’s Baptist Campus Ministries. It was there that her heart for ministering to young women began to develop. After moving back to Tuscaloosa in May of 2009, God opened a door for Lauren to serve on full-time staff at YFC. She is now the director of our Teen Moms ministry where she works with over 80 young mothers in the Tuscaloosa area. You may email Lauren at lauren@tuscaloosayfc.com

  Romel Gibson
  Campus Life Director -- Central High School 

  Romel Gibson was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Aliceville, Alabama. He graduated from Stillman College with a B.A. in Music Performance and a minor in Religion/Philosophy. He is married to Quanedra Gibson and has two daughters, Allayna Pilar and Moriah Kelis Gibson.  You may email Romel at romel@tuscaloosayfc.com

  Ben Talmadge
  Campus Life Director -- Echols Middle School

   Ben was first introduced to Tuscaloosa YFC while attending the University of Alabama in 2002. Three years later he joined the staff as a Campus Life Director.  After a short departure from YFC to complete a seminary degree at Beeson Divinity School, Ben is now back on staff, serving as Campus Life Director for Echols Middle School and providing leadership to the ministry staff of YFC.  Ben is married to Anna Grace, and they are “parents” to a dognamed Buttercup.
